Cape Verde
Day 151 - 1 December 2005
Prova prova prova!

so the craziness is over...2 days of review, 2 days of testing. only 8 of 10 showed, and all 8 passed! whoever says that students’ test scores are a direct translation of how good of a teacher they have is a genius! just playin. my students did pretty well though, and of course there was quite a range of scores. of course I could’ve made the test more complicated, but it did cover all of the topics I went over in the past 3 weeks. I got lectured on why I should teach English, but considering how it went for the other volunteers here, I really don’t see a point. so I’m going to continue to avoid it at almost all costs. I really need to get a tutor of some sort. preferably one who speaks both Kriolu and Português. is that possible? I have no clue.
so I sent out another mass email, this time with a bit of delirium for my fans. hahaha...fans. right. hopefully at least one person laughed at it. oh! and I finally got the package from my mom...96 granola bars! SWEET! love you mom! I ate 4 of them as soon as the box was open. and now I have SF postcards hangin in my room. finally some décor! anybody else wanna send postcards or pics or other things to decorate my room or apartment with? hint hint, widge widge (wink wink nudge nudge) see pics of my place and it’s desolate barrenness- yay for ‘roughin it’ in PCCV!
and may I throw a shout out for our empregada (maid)! she is the BESTEST lady ever! a total momma figure. she said she wants to take care of us like her own sons...how sweet is that? the house is clean without any effort of ours and the food, OH the FOOD! MUUUUUUIT SAP! good ol’ comida d’ terra!
