Day 127 - 7 November 2005 First computer class so today was supposedly the first day of my basic computer class. the class was supposed to start at 3:00pm. so I wait around for a while and the first student shows up at 3:15. and then two more show a half hour later at 3:45. then two more at 4:00pm. so I talk to my director and we decide I guess we should start. so we take the kids into the sala de informação and my director presents me and I ask the students what sort of experience they have with computers. all of them say they’ve already taken some sort of basic computer class in the past. THIS class is a basic computer class! my director told me that I was gonna have a bunch of young kids who didn’t have ANY computer experience. and that’s what I created my first few lesson plans for! WTF mate? so I recognize two kids as volunteers here at the CEJ that are always on the computers, and one of them I feel like I should keep my eye on. great. they probably know everything already. so I just quickly go over the parts of the computer and what will be covered in the course and then tell them I’ll see them tomorrow. so I wanted to teach a course for kids who knew nothing, but now it looks like I’ll be teaching a course that will be review for everybody. great... <--- who’s an idiot?                mixed level course --->
