Day 120 - 31 October 2005 Halloween pizza party so for the first time, all the volunteers on my island got together for an event up in the north. as unofficial as a pickup game of ball, we had a "Halloween" party which ended up really just bein a pizza party. 6 pizzas for 10 volunteers- you do the math. oh yeah, there was also a salad, fried chicken, some salsa with crackers (chips don’t exist here unless you make them from scratch), and a mounds bar cake. so much good stuff. sure was fun tossin the dough in the air makin the zzas tho...i love doin that! funny events from the evening included two broken chairs compliments of the same padonk-a-DONK, another broken chair in slow mo (one a time, both back legs cracked, then broke off the back) as the occupant took the fall gracefully concentrating fully on successfully not spillin his drink, and the hostess’ inclusion of what she thought were capers on two of the veggie pizzas which ended up bein the all-feared and frightfully spicy baby malageta peppers. that went over well as everybody who had a piece was cryin and/or choking after the second bite. but damn it tasted good...my favorite quote of the night which was choked out as she was cryin was “it tastes so good, but it makes me cry and choke. I like it though.” and something else I learned the hard way all weekend: malagetas taste soooo good on the way in, but don’t feel so good on the way out, know what I’m sayin? so much for my iron stomach (yeah right). at least they cleaned me out good (by burning out my insides). this was the first time I’ve seen some folks since training and it sure was nice. hopefully we’ll get to see each other again sometime soon... <--- pine forests                who’s an idiot? --->
