Day 7 - 10 July 2005 Praia at last - hostel and discomfort oh wow, I’m miserable. the bites, the heat, the constant moving of 100 lbs. of luggage. the hurry and wait routine. I’m prolly just in a bad mood cuz I feel like crap, almost every inch of my body is in a constant state of discomfort. AI-YAH. on an up note, a current volunteer brought us to this chwawarma place- SOOO good, and cheap too! a chwawarma and a soda for only 240$00 CVE (just around $2.50) one almost bad thing happened when our volunteer was approached by a kid with an open box cutter (apparently kids under 16 can’t be prosecuted for ANY crime they commit here- crazy, no?) thankfully another volunteer with a local buddy convinced the kid our volunteer wasn’t worth his effort and he took off so we could return to our hostel for the evening. a li’l bit of excitement in the latter part of the longest miserable 48 hours of my life. hopefully tomorrow will be better. <--- Dakar & "The Resort"               S.
